Make Your Own Heart Shaped Pizza
Valentine’s Day is coming up and that means we’re seeing heart shaped food all over the place! One of the most popular items – especially for kids of course – is the heart shaped pizza. It’s significantly more expensive to order this Valentines pizza special, and on average, you get less pizza…not to worry, if you have a frozen pizza then you can make your own heart shaped pizzas at home!
I used a frozen Kirkland Signature Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizza from Costco to make my own heart shaped pizza for $3.60, but you can choose any pizza you like from your local grocery store. I think there are plenty of good and cheap frozen pizza options at most grocery stores for under five bucks!
Take the cuttings and bake them separately on a sheet pan, so there’s no waste. Eat them on the side, or put them into kids’ lunchboxes the next day.
Here’s a quick video showing the cutting process and finished heart shaped pizza.
DIY Directions for Heart Shaped Pizza
You’ll need:
- 1 frozen pizza
- 1 pair of kitchen shears (or a clean pair of scissors)
Directions:
- Thaw pizza on countertop for about 20 minutes or until crust can easily be cut with scissors
- Cut your pizza into a heart shape
- Put any cheese or toppings that fell off back on top
- Bake pizza per directions but check it 2 minutes earlier than usual because it will be slightly more thawed than usual
- Bake your cuttings on a separate sheet pan, checking on them after about 50% of the recommended cooking time, as they will cook faster than the full pizza

Reminder: kids are far less likely to notice an imperfect heart shape (especially little kids!) – so don’t stress over the shape! It’s just for fun!
