Update: Get Free N95 Masks at Costco Pharmacy Starting Friday
Starting Friday of this week, Costco Pharmacy will be participating in the Federal Government’s Retail Pharmacy Program to distribute N95 Face Masks for FREE inside Costco stores. These free N95 masks at Costco Pharmacy will be available to members and non-members at the pharmacy counter, along with free Covid-19 vaccinations and RX refills.
The CDC announced the mask distribution initiative on Jan 20, 2022. As an enrolled provider Costco is authorized to receive N95 masks (also called respirators) that are approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) from the Department of Health and Human Services Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) for free distribution to people in the United States.
Costco Pharmacy will be distributing USG-purchased N95 masks provided through this initiative at no charge for use by individuals. Receipt of masks is not conditioned on membership at Costco, or the purchase of other products or services.
If you’ve been having difficulty finding N95 Masks, this might be a great opportunity to get one, for free!
We expect Costco Pharmacy will post mask use instructions on their website at some point before distribution begins, but that is TBD at this time.

I spoke to Costco Northeast Regional office, and was told that Costco was erroneously put on the list for free mask distribution (the error may have been because Costco offers vaccines). Costco will not be distributing the free government masks. I wish they were!
