7.0 CU FT Chest Freezer Back In-Store – Price Drop

chest freezer at costco

2024 Price Drop! If you’re anything like me, you’re always needing more freezer space! From popsicles to freeze-ahead meals…I need and use a lot of freezer space…more than I have! This compact little Midea chest freezer at Costco is back in store again and this is a great budget friendly solution – adding significant extra freezer storage space without taking up too much space. We’ve seen the price swing around a bit on this little freezer since we first featured it in 2021 and we’re happy to let you know that for 2024 there’s a price drop! We like this Midea chest freezer at Costco because it’s small footprint, affordability and versatility.

Availability Note: The Midea 7.0 cubic foot garage ready chest freezer is in-store only (as of 3/8/2024). It’s a seasonal item, we have seen this item return to Costco almost every year for at least the past 4 years.

.

I don’t have this one, but a good friend of mine does and I’ve seen it at her home, she keeps it in her garage (yes, it’s a “garage ready” freezer), and she loves hers. And it fits a LOT.

Upright Versus Chest

The major downside to a chest is that everything stacks a bit on top of other stuff – it can be trickier to get stuff out of it. That said, it can be tucked under upper cabinetry or a staircase or go in front of a window. And you don’t need radius around it for doors to open (though you do need some above it). It’s definitely easier to find a place to put it than a full upright deep freezer in my opinion.

Upright freezers are definitely easier to keep organized and find items. Everyone and their sister on the gram’ is obsessed with the 7-drawer Hamilton Beach Freezer from Costco (also a great price, but somewhat mixed reviews.)

This Midea chest freezer at Costco offers a lot of value for the price, and she recommends it – 5 stars from her!

    1. Yes, I believe it’s just a standard 3 prong US outlet. I don’t have it (but I have a friend who does) and hers is in her garage.

    1. This was in-store about a year ago – the same freezer (or similar updated version, not sure) is available online now at costco.com with free delivery for $299.99 https://www.costco.com/midea-7.0-cu-ft-convertible-chest-freezer-with-interior-led-light.product.100737199.html – I noticed this freezer in store after writing this and it had already gone up a bit in price, but now seems price is quite a bit higher. Maybe supply issues? I’m not sure…but take a look at this link and you can get all the details. Keep your eye out for it in store, it will definitely be cheaper in store if you have a way to move it yourself. If you get it let us know what you think of it! Thanks for visiting 🙂
