Costco now allows members to search Costco inventory of individual local warehouses, including in-store pricing, and it’s in near real-time! This is a major technological improvement that will make it much easier for shoppers to find items in-store. While new product arrivals may take a few days to appear in the system, they are getting them into the inventory system quickly and it works great for finding local availability of clearance deals!

I’m thrilled they’ve added this feature, and being able to search Costco inventory will especially be a superpower when looking for in-store clearance items. I highly recommend trying it out before you head in-store!

How it Works

The new Costco in-store search feature lives in the Costco mobile app and uses keywords, so you do need to know what you’re looking for- as such, the tool is a great way to supplement following my Instagram accounts (CostContessa and CostcoOrganic) or reading our product reviews and New Costco finds here on Costcontessa.com! When you see something I post that you’re interested in, simply use the mobile app search to see if it’s available in your local warehouse. Again, this is especially helpful for finding clearance items and markdown deals in-store near you!

Using the Costco warehouse inventory and pricing search tool is super simple. Costco added this feature quietly and so knowing about it is really all you need to know. The rest is quite intuitive!

How to Search Local Costco Inventory and Pricing

To find your local in-store product inventory and prices, download the Costco mobile application (if you haven’t already).

From the Costco mobile app, click “Warehouse” from the bottom toolbar. Your local Warehouse will pop up and you’ll see a search bar that says “search Warehouse inventory” and you can simply enter your keywords or brand names in that search bar. That’s it, it’s super easy.

To find your local in-store product inventory and prices, download the Costco mobile application (if you haven’t already).
From the Costco mobile app, click “Warehouse” from the bottom toolbar.
Your local Warehouse will pop up and you'll see a search bar that says “search Warehouse inventory” and you can simply enter your keywords or brand names in that search bar.

Notes

Remember that brand new items may take a few days to show up in the app inventory search, and some seasonal items may not be listed in the app. However, this app is a great tool for meal planning and creating shopping lists. You can check if items are available in-store, track local Costco clearance deals, and find out if new items have arrived at your warehouse.

Note: you will find that brand new items to Costco may be delayed a couple of days and some seasonal types of items may not be in the app, but overall I think this tool will be super useful in meal planning a shopping list to know whether or not you can purchase certain items in store, tracking down Costco clearance deals in your local area and finding out if new Costco finds are in your warehouse.

Search Tip: Products are input by their exact name, and not product categories. You’ll need to use the exact keywords which aren’t always intuitive. For example, if you’re looking for frozen burger patties and you search “burger” – you won’t find them. You’ll need to use “patties” to find the frozen burger patties – because the exact product names are “frozen beef patties” – yes, we all know they’re burgers but it’s not going to show up under burgers – so be sure you’re using the exact product key words.

Hello Costcontessa,
I have searched in every way imaginable for an item from Costco in my area of the country.
My local Costco warehouse is in Norfolk, Virginia, 850 Glenrock Road, 23502-3702.
I’m desperately searching for Acai Roots Organic Sorbet at Costco but have not found it anywhere.
Can you Please help me. I use the mobile app to search for the item using the exact name of the item and it appears it’s not in stock or carried at my local warehouse or the search shows no results found. If you have any suggestions on where I can find this item advertised by Costco as The 64oz Acai Roots Organic Acai Sorbet, 1/2 gallon, is item number 1133207 priced at $13.99, I would greatly appreciate it.

  That’s an item that is recurring, but not a core staple product – so keep your eye out in the freezer section for it…it’ll come back eventually but you never quite know when. You can ask in the front of your store (at the kiosk desk, like where you pick up tickets/expensive alcohol) and see if it’s on order, or if they have any idea if it might be coming in anytime soon…they *might* know if it’s on order and you can request that they order it. If it isn’t on order right now, keep your eye out because it probably will eventually come back…right now it looks like they have acai bowls…warehouses don’t usually have both at the same time (kind of duplicitous). You could try sending the brand a DM on social media and ask them – I haven’t worked with them before so I don’t know how helpful they might or might not be – brands are hit or miss but you never know. Hope you find it soon – sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. It does come back to Costco on a regular basis though…so hang tight and keep checking for it once a week.
