New in the Costco Bakery – you can now find Green Chile Cornbread at Costco warehouses! This is a large loaf of cornbread with green chiles and topped with cornmeal. It’s not spicy, in fact it’s on the sweeter side!

We tried it and we liked it! We didn’t care for the cornmeal topping – either the way it looked or the texture – but its easy enough to brush most of it off – and the flavor of the cornbread was great! We love green chile cornbread, and don’t mind it a bit on the sweeter/breadier side – it’s much less crumbly and messy than a traditional cornbread and we can appreciate that…

Storage and Freezer Tips
It is sold room-temperature, and the sell by date was approximately 4 days after the day I purchased mine.
No instructions regarding freezing were provided, but we think this would freeze just fine if you can’t use the whole loaf fresh.

We purchased the green chile cornbread and it’s absolutely delicious. Hope this item stays.
This will most likely just be a seasonal item, but I bet it will freeze well if you want to toss one in the freezer for later! I think it’ll be back again eventually – it would go great with chili and soups, I hope we see it back for winter soup season!
