Costco Chicken Fried Rice

Yakitori Costco Chicken Fried Rice

Costco Chicken Fried Rice is another Costco fan favorite item in the freezer aisle. Ajinomoto Yakitori Japanese Style Chicken Fried Rice is a long time Costco frozen staple and you can find it year-round in your local warehouse – it’s quick and easy and packs 15 grams of protein per serving. It cooks in just 3 minutes in the microwave – great for a quick meal, lunch, or large snack when you don’t have a lot of time.

Or, if you have teens…because they eat a LOT. 😉

My Review

Ajinomoto Yakitori Chicken fried rice is pretty kid friendly – it does have a small amount of carrots, onions, leeks, edamame soybeans, sweet corn, chicken and – of course – rice seasoned with soy sauce, mirin, garlic and other traditional japanese fried rice flavors. The veggies are pretty minimal and small – and the flavor is generally middle of the road. I add a little more garlic butter to ours to make it taste a little more like Benihana.

This isn’t amazing for me, and I don’t generally buy it. Many people do love it though, so if you’re on the fence about trying it, I’d say definitely give it a shot! It cooks really quickly and I like that it’s packaged into servings so it’s easy to pull one out and cook it. Or as many as you need.

Nutritional Facts

Costco chicken fried rice from Ajinomoto has 310 calories and 7g of fat. There are 6 individual bags in each package. That said, the nutrition label is based on 7 servings in a box…so I’d say to be safe, I’d say there is really about 15% more than the below label states in each serving if you eat the entire bag. Not sure why they don’t base it on the pre-packed servings….

Costco Chicken Fried Rice is not suitable for low sodium diets. Please note it contains what and soy.
