Costco Boba Ice Cream Bars

Costco Boba Ice Cream Bars

Costco Boba Ice Cream Bars from I-MEIA are so good that everyone is talking about them. If you are not familiar with Bobas, they are little chewy tapioca black balls. Bobas are a Taiwanese treat and are usually put in flavored lattes and milk teas – often called Bubble Milk Tea, Pearl Milk Tea, or tapioca milk tea. And now they’re in ice cream bars at Costco…and they’re DELICIOUS! Costco really stepped it up by adding the Brown Sugar Boba Ice Milk Bars to the frozen dessert options – what a fun and unusual dessert option!

Availability Note: these boba ice cream bars return to Costco a few times a year, they don’t seem to be on a particular schedule or seasonality, however we do see them come back about 2 to 3 times a year. If you haven’t seen them in a while keep your eye out for them!

These boba ice cream bars from Costco have a unique flavor – they are made with milk and brown sugar. Its not a flavor that’s unusual for a dessert in the US, but not a flavor that we usually see in ice cream – so it’s familiar but not familiar – if that makes sense. These were an instant Costco Fan Favorite item.ย If you haven’t tried them, they really are unique and and I highly recommend giving them a try!

If you like ice cream mochi – which also has a bit of that chewy sort of texture – I think there’s a very good chance these will be a good dessert choice for you. And if not, well…maybe buying the Costco size box isn’t recommended – I’ve also found these at our local Asian markets in 4-packs – might be better to buy a small quantity if you’re not sure about it because the Costco box comes with a dozen.
